Public Advisory: Temporary Suspension of Operations in DFA’s NCR Consular Offices and TOPS Facilities

30 July 2021 – In view of the announcement of the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to 20, 2021 in the National Capital Region, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) advises the public of the following:

• • 1. DFA’s Passport and Apostille/Authentication Services located at the Aseana Business Park in Parañaque City will continue accepting applicants who already have a confirmed appointment in DFA-Aseana between August 6 to 20, 2021. No walk-in applicants will be accepted.

For Affected Passport Applicants

• • 2. All DFA Consular Offices and Temporary Off-Site Passport Services (TOPS) in the National Capital Region will be closed from August 6 to 20, 2021.

    Passport applicants affected by the temporary closure of DFA’s Consular Offices and TOPS facilities during this ECQ period will receive separate email advisories with regard to their new appointment schedule.

• • 3. Those with emergency and urgent medical travel needs may send an email request to [email protected] with copies of their identity (current passport or if new applicant, a government-issued ID) and proof of their emergency travel. Possession of a flight ticket in itself is not considered urgent.

For Affected Applicants for Apostille / Authentication Services

• • 4. Applicants with appointments for Apostille/Authentication Services at Consular Offices in NCR (Ali Mall Cubao, SM Manila, SM Megamall, and Metro Gaisano Alabang) from August 6 to 20, 2021 will keep the original dates and times of their appointments, but will be accommodated at DFA-Aseana only.

• • 5. Applicants requesting urgent appointments for Apostille/Authentication Services may email to [email protected] with copies of their documents to be Apostilled/authenticated, copies of their identity (current passport or valid government-issued ID) and proof of their emergency.

This plan of operations may be subject to revisions depending on future guidelines from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases. DFA will update its advisory as may be necessary. The DFA requests the public’s understanding and cooperation as it continues to limit the number of applicants allowed inside its premises at any given time to reduce the risks for both applicants and personnel due to continuing COVID-19 concerns. END
