Public Advisory: On Philippine Identification (PhilID) Cards as Valid IDs for Passport Applications and other Consular Service-Related Transactions

09 June 2021 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) informs the public that all its Consular Offices now accept the Philippine Identification (PhilID) as a valid, government-issued identification card for passport applications and for other consular service-related transactions.

This new policy is in line with the Philippine Statistics Authority’s roll-out of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) mass registration and the issuance of unique Philsys numbers and PhilID cards to successful registrants.
