PUBLIC ADVISORY: Adjustment in Passport Delivery and Release Schedule Due to System Upgrade

As part of its efforts to enhance the security and ensure the integrity of the Philippine ePassport system, the Department of Foreign Affairs – Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) wishes to inform the public that there will be an upgrade to the ePassport system that will cause an adjustment in the passport delivery and release schedules.

The system upgrade, which is expected to be completed by September 2019, will adjust the passport delivery and release schedules effective immediately.

Regular passport processing will now take 15 working days instead of the current 12 working days for all consular offices (COs) nationwide. Meanwhile, expedited processing will now take eight working days for applications processed in DFA ASEANA and COs in the National Capital Region (NCR) and 10 working days for those in COs outside NCR.

Passport delivery and release schedules will return to normal upon completion of the system upgrade.

The public’s patience and understanding is appreciated.
